Zambales conducts 1st PPOC Meeting for 2015

Iba, Zambales – As part of its continuing efforts to intensify interventions for the province-wide campaign against criminality and insurgency, the Provincial Peace and Order Council of Zambales, chaired by Gov. Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr., has recently conducted its first meeting for the year last March 24, 2015, at the Balin Sambali (Zambales Hotel) here.

The DILG Zambales Team was in full force, while majority of Municipal Chiefs of Police and Fire Marshals were also present. Municipal Mayors, headed by LMP President Jun Rundstedt C. Ebdane of Iba; Ronaldo Apostol of Cabangan; Napoleon Edquid of Candelaria; Jose Angelo Dominguez of Castillejos; Generoso Amog of Palauig; Carolyn Farinas of San Felipe; Peter Lim of San Narciso; Jose Rodriguez of San Marcelino; and Consolacion Marty of Sta. Cruz, were in attendance.

Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, PPOC Head Secretariat, presented Executive Order No. 008, S. 2014, creating the Zambales Provincial Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ZPCLIP) Committee, which was then adopted by the body upon motion and consensus of the majority.

Various agency members presented their respective plans and programs, acquiring approval and adoption of the Peace and Order Public Safety Plan (POPSP) for FY 2015. SFO4 Ruben C. Collado presented the concerns of the Bureau of Fire Protection, while Col. David Diclano of the 702nd Brigade and Lt. Col. Monib Mamao of the 24th IB of the Armed Forces of the Philippines discussed the Situation Report on Insurgency and AFP’s plans and programs, respectively.

Other key presenters were Prosecutor Gladys Bautista of the Department of Justice, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Laudemir Salac, and Col. Jacquiline Puapo, Chief for Operations, in behalf of PD Manuel Manalo Abu of the ZPPO.

PD Bactad then discussed the status of the functionality of Municipal Peace and Order Councils (MPOCs). She also announced upcoming activities such as the Operation Listo: Provincial Convergence Action Planning on Disaster Preparedness, 2015 Earth Hour, 1st Semester 2015 Barangay Assembly Day, and Governor’s Award.

The Governor focused on the major plans and programs to be implemented for the whole year and encouraged everyone to support the campaign for peace, order, and safety in the province. He also conveyed his gratitude to the PPOC members, specifically the AFP, PNP, the rest of the DILG Family, as well as the LCEs for attending the meeting.
