PRRD attends first 2019 NPOC-RPOC in Davao

March 15, 2019

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte released the names of the politicians included in the narco list and discussed election campaigns and the Cebu rape-slay case during the Joint National Peace and Order Council (NPOC) – Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Clusters’ Meeting and AFP-PNP Command Conference on March 14, 2019 at Arcadia Active Lifestyle Center, Davao City.

“My decision to unmask these drug personalities was anchored on my trust in the government agencies who had vetted and validated the narco list,” President Duterte said as he finally revealed 46 names of government officials involved in illegal drugs, based on the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) intelligence reports.

President Duterte added that the DILG has already filed administrative complaints against the politicians at the Office of the Ombudsman and that there are still other officials involved but were not disclosed because they are still validating it.

On the other hand, the President also urged the government officials and employees to be neutral and impartial and directed the AFP and PNP to report to him or to DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año when there is a public official that does not allow candidates to use public places for campaigning.

“Do not take advantage of your position as a mayor to approve or deny permits,” Duterte said, emphasizing that the using of public places for election campaigns is guaranteed under the Election Code of the Philippines.

Updates on the Cebu rape-slay case was also discussed and the PNP of Cebu City was directed to take a quick action on the case.

The Joint NPOC-RPOC Meeting and AFP-PNP Command Conference was attended by the members of the NPOC and RPOC, AFP and PNP officials, and DILG officials and was facilitated by the DILG Region XI.
