Basco, Batanes – On February 13-14, 2018, DILG Regional Director Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr. of DILG Region 02 together with Engr. Maria Loida M. Urmatam, CESE, OIC-PD of DILG Batanes, graced the Inauguration, Turnover and Groundbreaking Ceremonies of Projects under the Bottom-up Budgeting, Performance Challenge Fund and Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities in the Municipalities of Ivana and Basco.
On February 13, RD Leusen, PD Urmatam and Staff from the Provincial Project Development and Monitoring Unit (PDMU) joined Hon. Leonardo V. Hostallero and functionaries of LGU Ivana in inaugurating and in turning-over their BuB 2016 Project entitled Provision of Potable Water: Rehabilitation of Existing Level III Potable Water System in Barangay Salagao amounting to Php 3,130,750.00 and their PCF 2017 Project Water Tank Truck amounting to Php 2,000,000.00. In attendance during the ceremony are the LGU Officials, Employees and Beneficiaries of the Projects.
On February 14, DILG Personnel led by RD Leusen joined Hon. Anastacia B. Viola and functionaries of LGU Basco in inaugurating and in turning-over their BuB 2014 Project entitled Cementing of 50M Road Project in Vayang, Construction of Dipnaysuhuan FMR & Rehabilitation of Level III Basco Water System amounting to Php 7,683,000.00 and their ADM 2017 Project Construction of Evacuation Facility amounting to Php 6,000,000.00. In attendance during the ceremony are the LGU Officials, Employees and Beneficiaries of the Projects.
In his message, RD Leusen stated that, “Implementing water projects is investing for the future of the coming generations, both the Ivatan community and incoming local and international visitors.”
In her reply, Mayor Viola, referring to the Rehabilitation of Level III Basco Water System of BuB 2014, said that, “Indeed water is life and we are just grateful that DILG never gave up on this project… Because you gave us a grain of hope, ako’y nagpapasalamat ng taos puso in behalf of the Basco constituents whom I represent.”
After the inauguration ceremonies, RD Leusen and the group, together with PNP Personnel, conducted on-site visits for completed and on-going projects in Ivana and Basco.
