DILG funds halfway house in Cagayan

PENABLANCA, CAGAYAN - The DILG-Cagayan awarded this morning, March 25, 2019, the financial assistance for the “Construction of Halfway House” amounting to P5-million to the Provincial Government of Cagayan during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Capitol Grounds.

Dir. Ruperto B. Maribbay, Jr. of the DILG-Cagayan, emphasized in his message that the fund for the halfway house is provided under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the Department.

He also added that this will serve as receiving facility and temporary shelter for Former Rebels (FRs) while undergoing reintegration and processing of their enrolment to the E-CLIP Program.

On the other hand, Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba expressed his gratitude to the Department for providing such financial assistance where FRs will be temporarily sheltered while they transition back to the society.

Under the said program, a former rebel is entitled to various assistance such as immediate assistance, livelihood assistance, low-cost housing, and other benefits from the government.

Meanwhile, the halfway house will be situated at Bangag, Lallo, Cagayan and is targeted to be completed this year.
