July 9, 2021

Recognizing the importance of promoting truthful and relevant information to the public amidst the pandemic, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Camiguin Communications and Information Committee (CIC) spearheaded a seminar on the Basics of Content Creation in Social Media on June 22.

“This initiative by our office aims to encourage LGUs to post and share accurate and timely information especially during this time of pandemic where people are more active online,” said Jay Niel C. Anasco, DILG-Camiguin Cluster Head-Designate.

The CIC invited resource speakers—Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) Princess Jia Andriza Artajo of DILG-10 and Information Officer Recthie Paculba of Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-10—to discuss the Do’s and Don’ts of Social Media Content Creation and the Fundamentals of News Writing.

The information officers from the five municipalities of the province, the DILG MLGOOs, and their staff participated in the training.

LGOO Megumi Tacastacas also organized a Basic Photography Workshop to help the participants document their offices’ programs, projects, and activities. The participants learned how to properly take photos first-hand and apply the composition tricks taught to them. Jesseca A. Francisco/Jia Artajo.
