As part of the national quest against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of the Interior and Local Government-7 assisted over 20,000 clients over the last four months whose concerns and queries are mainly on the implementation of COVID-19 directives and measures in the local government units (LGUs).
DILG Region VII Director Leocadio T. Trovela said the COVID-19 concerns assisted came from various platforms such as EOC hotline number, Facebook page, intranet, telephone and walk-in.
“The hotline would provide the right information about directives of the government to combat COVID-19. While citizens are watchful of the activities of their leaders, this platform will keep the officials on their toes,” Trovela said.
According to Trovela, of the 24,066 clients assisted from March 23 to July 20, 18,089 were received through the office’s hotline number, 5,243 from its Facebook page, 180 via Intranet, 369 calls, and 185 walk-in clients.
He said that the reactivation of EOC on March 23 was made possible in partnership with E-Sat Pilipinas Teknik using the hotline number 09127208913, through which the public can raise their issues and complaints against local officials.
Trovella revealed that among the concerns assisted at EOC were peace and order matters; non-observance of social distancing; protocols for the locally stranded individuals; interzonal and intrazonal movement of people; and distribution of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) financial assistance, relief assistance, and quarantine passes.
The DILG VII Regional Director expressed happiness on the voluminous clients assisted via the DILG EOC hotline as this is an indication that the public has become aware of this program.
He said that the regional office also received numerous appreciation messages from its satisfied clients and this challenges the offices to provide faster and more effective response to the clients.
Aside from the Regional Hotline number, Trovella advised the public that they can now voice out their concerns to the following DILG sub-regional hotline numbers: 09615234239 for Cebu Province; 09462517436 for Bohol Province; 09380698252 for Negros Oriental Province; 09489776193 for Siquijor Province; 09489811246 for Cebu City; 09489817400 for Lapu-Lapu City; and 09489817331 for Mandaue City.
