Cagayan de Oro City - In continuing pursuit of addressing water scarcity, water-related diseases due to poor water sanitation and equal access to communal sources of potable water, the Office of the Project Development Service in partnership with the DILG Region 10 will be conducting a SALINTUBIG Project Orientation and Project Feasibility Study Preparation Seminar-Workshop for the Non-Waterless Municipalities with waterless barangays under the FY 2014 SALINTUBIG Program on December 3-5, 2014 here.
DILG Region 10 Director, Atty. Rene Burdeos said the activity will enable the target LGUs to prepare project proposal and blueprint for their own water supply system project in accordance with the policies, guidelines and standards set for the SALINTUBIG Program.
A total of 60 participants coming from the 15 participating LGUs of Region 9,10,11,12 and 13 are expected to attend, three (3) municipalities of which will be coming from Region 10 namely: Plaridel and Sapang Dalaga of Misamis Occidental and Binuangan of Misamis Oriental.
The SALINTUBIG Program is designed to provide grant financing and capacity development programs to enhance the capacities of the LGUs and water service providers. It aims to contribute in the attainment of the goal of the national government as defined in the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016 which is to provide safe, adequate and sustainable water to the entire country and the targets.
