Banking on successful localized peace talks in the region, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10 eyes for more surrenderees as 24 former rebels (FRs) in Bukidnon received financial assistance through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
DILG 10 Regional Director said the E-CLIP benefits were handed out to the beneficiaries during the recently conducted Joint Region 10 Regional Development Council-Regional Peace and Order Council (RDC-RPOC) meeting.
“I hope our rebels will grab this opportunity in starting a new life while the government is still providing financial assistance, including other necessary assistance which will be deemed necessary for them to improve the quality of their lives,” RD Agabe said.
Witnessing the momentous event were Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin M. Andanar, DILG Assistant Secretary Manuel B. Felix, RPOC 10 Chairperson Mayor Oscar S. Moreno, Deputy Director General Undersecretary Rufino S. Lopez, and other officials.
E-CLIP provides a complete package of assistance to former rebels, as well as their family members, who have surrendered to the government and abandoned armed struggle to become productive members of the society.
Through E-CLIP, the surrrenderers received financial assistance ranging from P15,000 to P105,000, depending on the benefits they are entitled to claim.
Agabe then urged more rebels to surrender while incentives through the E-CLIP are still available.
He assured the surrenderees that they and their families will benefit from the various social services through the E-CLIP program.
