The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Region X announced that 119 identified priority barangays in Northern Mindanao will receive an aggregate total of P16.44-Billion for the implementation of programs, projects, and activities (PPA) under the Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP).
DILG-10 Regional Director Arnel Agabe said the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) will handle the evaluation of requests for funding among the 119 covered barangays.
In a recent organizational meeting, Agabe said the region will benefit from the whole-of-nation approach to end local communist armed conflict as mandated by Republic Act 11518 or the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
According to Agabe, a Project Technical Assessment Team (PTAT) was already formed to serve as technical support to the RTF–ELCAC in the evaluation of the funding requests from the priority barangays.
Agabe said the PTAT will ensure that all projects are supported with the necessary and required documents prior the RTF-ELCAC’s endorsement to the DBM Central Office.
He said the DILG serves as PTAT Head with following as member-agencies: National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Philippine Army (1ID & 4ID), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH), and Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
