National Disaster Resilience Month

July 1, 2020 to July 31, 2020

In observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month this July, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) calls on all stakeholders to support government programs geared towards attaining disaster resilience.

Executive Order Number 29 signed on June 28, 2017 mandates the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) "throughout the country through the conduct of activities relative to building of disaster resilience covering the four thematic areas: prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation and recovery."

The NDRM observance reiterates the importance of understanding disaster risks, strengthening disaster risk governance, investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience, enhancing preparedness for effective response, and implementing “Build Back Better” in rehabilitation and recovery.

Marked by the theme "Sama-samang Pagsulong tungo sa Katatagan sa Gitna ng Bagong Normal", this year’s NDRM observance focuses on strengthening disaster resilience in the country while adapting towards the “new normal” caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
