Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 588 issued on March 25, 2004, every year September 16-22 of each year is declared as Celebral Palsy Awareness and Protection (CPAP) Week
The observance of this event hopes to create an environment that will allow persons with cerebral palsy to enjoy productive lives by raising the awareness of the people throughout the society and to inform the public that the causes of disabilities can be prevented and in cases when disabilities exist, early detection and prompt and appropriate intervention can be performed.
This year’s theme is “Taong May Cerebral Palsy: Kabahagi sa Pag-unlad ng Bayan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.”
