October 1, 2014 to October 31, 2014

The National Statistics Month (NSM) is celebrated in the month of October of every year as declared in Presidential Proclamation No. 647 dated September 20, 1990. The celebration aims to promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society and to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.

For this year’s silver anniversary celebration the theme highlights the objective of the newly established Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to be a solid and responsive Philippine statistical system, re:

“NSM at 25 Years and Beyond:

Solid and Responsive Philippine Statistical System in Support of

Globalization and Regional Economic Integration”

“Ang NSM sa Ika-25 Taon at Higit:

Matatag at Nakatutugong Sistemang Pang-estadistika ng Pilipinas bilang

Pagtaguyod sa Globalisasyon at Integrasyong Pang-ekonomiya ng Rehiyon”

Various activities will be conducted for the whole month of October sponsored by different national government agencies (NGAs), government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units, academe, as well as private companies and organizations.
