National Children's Month

November 1, 2023 to November 30, 2023

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661, the National Children’s Month (NCM) or also known as the “Buwan ng mga Bata” in the Philippines is annually celebrated every November to commemorate the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) on 20 November 1989. It seeks to instill its significance in the Filipino consciousness and to sustain the promotion and protection of children’s right.

The 31st observance of the NCM this November 2023 focuses on children’s survival rights, particularly on healthcare and nutrition, with the theme “Healthy, Nourished, Sheltered: Ensuring the Right to Life for All.” It emerged from the concerns and challenges affecting children from the COVID-19 pandemic and the accelerated inflation rate recently where prices of basic commodities and services consumed by the public soared. This calls upon the importance of accessible and quality healthcare for children, despite any health and economic crises, and even beyond the month-long NCM celebration.
